What is memory foam? The desire to own a memory foam mattress is well understood, as it offers superb support when combined with other materials. Memory foam, or ‘viscoelastic’ polyurethane foam was first developed back in 1966 for a NASA space age project and is a fairly low density material offering good recovery of shape and pressure indentation. When mixed with other high density foam this can be structured to make the perfect mattress for support while sleeping. The first generation of memory foam proved to have some disadvantages also, it retained heat and could be too warm for some people and did not suit everyone’s requirements for comfort. However, after 50 years of research and development we are pleased to say that the industry has produced the perfect memory foam offering amazing performance and support. Our modern foam combinations are structured in a way that suits almost everyones needs , adjusting to the different weights of sleeping partners, so no more roll together. With the added benefit of our cool blue top layer to help keep you cool during the hot summer nights.
